Join us for the opening reception of Confluence, a solo exhibition by acclaimed artist Susan Shantz. Known for her poetic and immersive work, Shantz explores the relationships between humanity and the natural world, challenging us to reconsider our connections to nature. Her latest works in Confluence examine the water sources that sustain us on the Prairies, tracing the journey of water from the Rocky Mountains to the prairies and beyond. This exhibition features an array of media—from textiles to videography—illustrating how water interlinks our lives and landscapes.

Inspired by her field studies in collaboration with scientists, Shantz uses art to highlight our dependence on water and the environmental challenges impacting our water systems. Through hand-sewn maps, embroidered shirts, and large-scale installations, she captures the physical and symbolic flow of water across our landscape, weaving together art, ecology, and cultural history.
