The 49th Annual Winter Festival Art Show & Sale is just around the corner, and we’re here to guide you through everything you need to know to participate in this celebrated event. Whether you’re a returning artist or submitting for the first time, this post has all the details to ensure your experience is seamless and enjoyable.
Event Overview
Exhibition Dates: February 7 – March 22, 2025
Location: Mann Art Gallery, Prince Albert, SK
Guest Curator: Monique Martin
As northern Saskatchewan’s premier community art event, the Winter Festival showcases hundreds of works by artists across the province. The exhibition celebrates artistic excellence and diversity, offering opportunities for artists to exhibit and sell their work.
Event Highlights:
Opening Reception: February 7, 2025, at 7 PM
Curator Walk-Through: February 8, 2025, at 10 AM
General Public Viewing Begins: February 8, 2025, from 1 PM
Eligibility
To participate, you must meet the following criteria:
Be 18 years or older and reside in Saskatchewan.
Be a 2025 member of the Mann Art Gallery. Memberships can be purchased online, over the phone, or in person.
Submit artwork that is original (no copies, reproductions, or works from kits) and created between 2023 and 2025.
Ensure your artwork has not previously been exhibited at the Mann Art Gallery.
Membership Information
A current Mann Art Gallery membership is required to exhibit. If you haven’t renewed or purchased your membership for 2025, you can do so easily online: Purchase Membership Here
Alternatively, memberships can be purchased in person or over the phone. If purchasing online, please ensure you do so at least 24 hours before the drop-off date and bring your receipt.
Submission Process
1. Artwork Drop-Off
Bring your artwork to the gallery during the following dates and times:
Saturday, January 18, 2025
Tuesday, January 21 – Saturday, January 25, 2025
Gallery Hours:
Tuesday – Friday: 10 AM – 5 PM
Saturday: 12 PM – 5 PM
2. Entry Form
Submit your entry form either online ahead of time or in person when dropping off your artwork. Save time by completing it online: Submit Entry Form Here
Be sure to label your artwork with the following details (attach to the back of your artwork):
Artist’s name
Artwork title
Date
Size
Medium
Sale price (if applicable)
Hanging Requirements
To ensure your artwork is ready for display, please follow these guidelines:
All two-dimensional pieces must have D-rings attached 2 inches from the top on both sides.
Wire or string is not accepted for hanging.
Ensure the hardware is secure and evenly placed.
D-rings can be purchased at most hardware stores or art supply shops, such as Michael’s or Hues Art Supplies. If your piece includes plexiglass, please note this for proper cleaning measures.
Selling Your Artwork
Selling your artwork is optional:
If Selling: The gallery takes a 35% commission on all sales made during the exhibition.
If Not Selling: By choosing not to sell, you waive any exhibition fees typically paid to artists.
Indicate your choice clearly on your entry form.
