The Mann Art Gallery is thrilled to announce a new addition to Prince Albert’s landscape: the Horse Labyrinth outdoor art installation. This captivating public artwork is part of the Intergenerational Metis Mentorship Project and was officially unveiled this Saturday, August 31st, at the Prince Albert Tourism Centre. This is the fourth outdoor summer art installation of the Intergenerational Metis Mentorship Project through the Mann Art Gallery. SaskCulture has been a major sponsor for these ongoing projects.
About the Installation
Led by Métis Artists Leah Marie Dorion and Elder Curtis Breaton, Ashley Smith and Louis Lafferty, this installation is more than just an art piece; it’s a journey through the cultural and spiritual connections that the Métis people share with horses and the land. The labyrinth’s design, featured in Leah’s Mother Earth Colouring Book, invites visitors to walk through it.
